Inferno Thermochemistry App

Components

The list of components on the Process System view is the chemical components selected from the app's database with which chemical reactions can be configured and calculations can be performed.

Adding or removing components of the process system

The list of components can be edited with the System Components view, which is accessed from the Process System view by tapping on the edit button next to the heading COMPONENTS on the Process System view. The System Components view is displayed, initially with all the components in the app database.

A component is added to the process system by tapping on the toggle switch to the right of the relevant component to have it change to green. To remove a component from the system, the toggle switch is tapped to have it change to white. Note, if a component is deselected that was previous used in the process system, it will be removed from any chemical reactions and calculations in which it was used.

Searching and selecting components

The System Components view has search and filter functionality to assist finding components in the app database.

The Search bar at the top of the System Components view can be used type in a component phase name or its chemical formula. If no text is typed, all the components in the database will be displayed, and while typing, the components matching the entered text are displayed.

Filter buttons are also displayed filter the search results for the matter states (all, gas, liquid, or solid). The components of the selected matter state are displayed matching the name or chemical formula entered in the Search bar.

For this example, to add the component C(s) (graphite), the text graphite is typed into the Search bar, and Solid can also be selected from the filter buttons. When typing in the Search bar, the component C(s) is displayed and can be selected to add it to the process system. Similarly, to add the gas species of the example Boudouard reaction, select Gas from the search options and type only CO in the Search bar. The components matching the criteria are displayed, and CO(g) and CO2(g) can then be selected:

Viewing the list of components of the process system

To return to the Process System view, tap on the back button in the top left of the System Components view. The Process System view displays the list of components of the process system being grouped according to matter state:

Removing components from the Process System

Components can be removed from the list on the Process System view by swiping to the left on the component that should be removed, and confirm removal by tapping on Delete:
